Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Press Launch Night of Aberdeen’s newest Thai restaurant Chaophraya, so I headed there with Laura to sample their menu.

Chaophraya is situated in Aberdeen city centre at the corner of Union Terrace and Union Street in the building which used to be the Monkey House. Once you pop inside you will quickly be amazed as to how much it has changed, we couldn’t believe it was the same place!

Towards the back of the restaurant there were some stunning private dinning areas, perfect for a get together with a group of friends!

Now on to what we came here for, the food!

For starters I opted for the chicken spring rolls and Laura ordered the chicken tacos.

Both were lovely and I would definitely order them again!

Now onto the mains of  Chicken Pad Thai and the Lamb Curry with Jasmine rice.

Having not tired Chicken Pad Thai before (some would say I’m a bit of a fussy eater!) but keen to try new meals I really enjoyed this dish and I will be ordering it again!

The mains were filling but as always there was some room left for dessert (it goes into separate sections, right?!) and as soon as I read the description for the White Chocolate box I had to have it! Laura opted for the mango meringue.

There was also an amazing sounding Chocolate Bombe on the menu which I will definitely need to go back and try!

Hidden inside the White Chocolate Box was raspberry coulis and shortbread. This dessert topped of an amazing meal and restaurant experience.

If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try in Aberdeen I highly recommend visiting Chaophraya, you wont be disappointed!

You can find them on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
