Reclaim the Streets
October 4, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm BST
***UPDATE*** This event is getting postponed. We have provisionally booked in 4th October 2020 with a contingency plan for 28th March 2021.
Come and cycle in the city centre of Aberdeen on car-free streets. We’re offering free cycling lessons for adults, a Dr Bike where you can take your bike for a health check, there’ll be crazy bikes to try out from Angus Cycle Hub, Electric Bikes Scotland will have some electric bikes to try, Grampian Disability Sport are brining Adapted bike, and CTC Grampian will have their “Try Cycling”. We’re also planning to have a competition with freebies to give away!
We are closing Union Street, Broad St, Upperkirkgate, Back Wynd, Little Belmont, and Belmont streets to cars for two hours to make it safe for cyclists of all ages and abilities.
Thanks to Paths for All, Cycling UK, Pedal on Parliament, and Award Force for sponsoring the event.
If you want to get involved then please contact us or come along to our next meeting which is on the last Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm downstairs at the Belmont Filmhouse.
