Parent and Little One Exercise Classes

Organiser: Strongmamamoves.Aberdeen

Where: Warehouse Health Club, 20 Mearns Street, AB11 5AT Aberdeen

Date:  Friday 11th October 2019

Time:  11:30AM-02:30PM

Description: StrongMamaMoves Class

Parent, toddler and baby classes.  It is exercise for you!  Bring your babies along, bring toddlers along and they can play with their toys or they can join in with you.

A structured warm up, main workout and cool down and stretch designed for you to become stronger and move better so you are ‘fit for parenting’

How often are we having to pick things up off the floor while still carrying them or when they throw their toys out of the pram or even picking them up when they are on the move??…

Imagine doing a deadlift (the ‘scary’ one that people worry about doing their back in with) but the weight is a moving, fast, wriggling weight…  That’s parenthood!  But we don’t think about the fact when we pick our little humans up that we ARE deadlifting them, we ARE exercising.. And if we can’t move effectively we can get hurt..

So by doing a class that encourages increasing applied strength, increasing range of motion and fitness levels we are getting fit for parenting 🙂

It’s best to do this class after doing initial rehab work after birth. I have classes to refer for this or can offer PT.. This class is best as your next level up so you can make the most of it

Booking is essential.

Aberdeen SleepOut

Organiser: Aberdeen Cyrenians

Where: Union Square Aberdeen, Union Square, Guild Square, AB11 5RG Aberdeen

Date: Friday 11th- Saturday 12th October 2019

Time:  8:00PM-07:00AM

Description: One uncomfortable night in Union Square’s car park = help to tackle homelessness in Aberdeen and surrounding areas.

Each year over 1,000 people affected by homelessness seek support and assistance from Aberdeen Cyrenians. With your help we will ensure that people have access to the help they need, when they need it, improving their circumstances straight away and for the long-term.

The Aberdeen SleepOut is a fundraising event taking place on 11 October 2019. Union Square are very kindly providing space on Level 2 of their car park for the event, it is covered but we can’t predict what weather we’ll see in October! You can bring a sleeping bag and rollmat/plastic sheet to lie on and cardboard will also be available but it is unlikely to be the most comfortable night’s sleep you have ever had. However, the money you raise you will help to prevent homelessness and avoid it becoming a reality for people in the Aberdeen area.

It’s just £15 per person to register and we ask you to raise a minimum of £50 (although the more you raise the more people that can be helped).

More information available at https://www.aberdeen-cyrenians.org/get-involved/events/sleepout-2019

Note: The minimum age is 8 but those under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times who is also registered for the event. There must be a minimum of one adult for every two children/young people aged under 16.
